About us

Sophie from Au Pair New ZealandSophie hails from Belgium, but has lived many years in Sweden, England and New Zealand. When she visited Aotearoa or the ‘Land of the long white cloud’ in 2005, she fell immediately in love with the country and its people and after extensive travel Down Under, she set up Linguavision Ltd, a company that offers exchange programs for young people. It was a dream coming true. As a former au pair, volunteer and backpacker in different parts of the world,  Sophie wants to offer the same opportunities to others in her new home country. She holds a degree in linguistics and has also studied social sciences. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys travelling, dancing, theatre, acro-yoga, the outdoors and also spending time with her family. She loves working with Au Pair New Zealand as she enjoys giving young people the chance to grow into open-minded, tolerant people.

Ilse from Au Pair New ZealandIlse is originally from Belgium and has been in New Zealand since 2010. She has worked for Au Pair New Zealand since 2013 and is the person who links the host family and the au pair. Ilse has two journalism degrees and has a passion for travelling. She has visited New York, London, Paris, Barcelona, Valencia, Tyrol and the Cook Islands amongst others. Her dream is to visit Brazil and Colombia one day, but her favourite place to be is her new hometown Wellington. The most enjoyable part of working for Au Pair New Zealand for Ilse is creating a personal bond with the families and the au pairs. “Everyone becomes part of the Au Pair New Zealand family and everyone looks after each other.”
